Get Started

In the meticulous world of auditing, ensuring data accuracy and identifying discrepancies are critical tasks. Audit Quicker Cloud's Document Markup tool offers robust Validation and Exception Markup features that simplify these processes. By allowing users to mark data as validated or flagged for review directly within documents, these tools enhance the accuracy and efficiency of audits. Let's explore how these features can transform your auditing workflow.

What are Validation and Exception Markup?

Validation and Exception Markup are features within Audit Quicker Cloud's Document Markup tool that allow users to mark data within documents to indicate its accuracy or to flag discrepancies. Validation Markup is indicated with green, while Exception Markup is indicated with red.

How Do Validation and Exception Markup Work?

Using the Validation and Exception Markup features is straightforward:

  1. Select the Document: Open the document you need to review. This could be a PDF, an image, or another supported document type. You can open a document from either the Document Manager or Document Markup.
  2. Mark the Data:
    1. Validation Markup: Use the green validation markup tool to highlight data that you have verified as accurate. Select the green validation button on the left of the document, then click and drag to highlight the correct data.
    2. Exception Markup: Use the red exception markup tool to highlight data that you have identified as potentially inaccurate or needing further review. Select the red exception button on the left of the document, then click and drag to highlight the problematic data.
  3. Review and Analyze: The marked data is then referenced in your Excel spreadsheet, allowing for easy tracking and analysis. The cells in Excel will be highlighted in green for validation and red for exception, indicating their respective statuses.

Key Benefits of Validation and Exception Markup

Enhanced Data Accuracy:

Validation Markup ensures that data marked as accurate has been thoroughly reviewed, maintaining data integrity and reliability throughout the audit process.

Efficient Discrepancy Management:

Exception Markup allows auditors to quickly identify and flag discrepancies, facilitating a more efficient review and resolution process. This ensures that all potential issues are addressed promptly.

Improved Accountability:

By marking data directly within documents and linking these marks to Excel, auditors can maintain a clear audit trail. This enhances accountability and transparency in the auditing process.

Use Cases for Validation and Exception Markup

Financial Audits:

For financial audits, use Validation Markup to confirm the accuracy of financial statements and transaction records. Use Exception Markup to flag any discrepancies or questionable entries for further review.

Compliance Checks:

In compliance audits, use Validation Markup to verify that policy documents and regulatory texts meet all necessary standards. Use Exception Markup to highlight any areas that require additional scrutiny.

Performance Reviews:

During performance audits, use Validation Markup to confirm the accuracy of performance metrics and evaluation comments. Use Exception Markup to identify any inconsistencies or areas needing further investigation.
